Irish stars took to social media last night to congratulate Robbie Keane on his final game with the Republic of Ireland team. The striker has now retired from international football, and went out with a bang.
Stars such as Niall Horan, Pippa O’Connor, Brian Ormond and Rob Kearney posted touching tributes to the 36-year-old on Twitter yesterday, and some even celebrated with him after the game last night.
Niall Horan wrote, “Robbie Keane scores on his last game for Ireland. Of course he did, absolute legend. Thank you so much for all the memories Rob.” This post comes after Niall already shared a sweet statement for his friend when he announced his retirement last week.
Rob Kearney simply said, “What an international career Robbie Keane has had- a proper hero!!”
Brian Ormond also posted a pic on Twitter and said, “Time to say goodbye to a hero of Irish football. Thanks for the memories pal. What a goal to finish,” while himself and wife Pippa O’Connor also partied with Robbie and his wife Claudine in House on Leeson Street afterwards.
We hope they had a great night, it was well deserved for Robbie.
