Irish reality star reveals she turned down an offer to go on Love Island

We'd love to see more Irish faces on the show.

Miss Ireland 2017 Finals

Last year Irish faces Rob Lipsett and Shannen Reilly McGrath appeared on Love Island.

And with the new series currently choosing their 2018 cast, it turns out they are approaching other Irish stars.

Former Miss Ireland Rebecca Maguire revealed that since taking part in other shows in the UK she has been asked to take part.

The reality star took part in Beauty Queen and Single earlier this year and has since found love.

“While it was running it was in the top three most watched shows in the UK, I was asked to do Love Island but obviously I have a boyfriend so that wouldn’t work.”

Though she turned down Love Island, there are plenty of other offers rolling in.

“I’ve been approached to do loads of shows in the UK and presenting one for BBC.

“The other show was more reality based and more fun, but for this new role, I have to go to debating classes and take all these new lessons.

“I’m from Northern Ireland, I’ve such a strong northern accent but the BBC were looking for new talent and they said they liked my accent so I’m going to stick with it.

“Hopefully with the TV presenting, I’d consider doing less pharmacy,” she told the Mirror.

And though she turned down Love Island due to her relationship status, she’s keeping quiet about her mystery man.

“I’m dating a doctor, I met him through work but he doesn’t like getting in photos, I’ve tried to keep him quite private, he’s a consultant and not used to the whole events thing.”

We’re excited to see whether there are other Irish stars on the hit reality show this time around.
