Does this mean winter is here?
Ireland’s Fittest Family is back, meaning we’ll be spending every Sunday night watching some of the most athletic people in the country taking on some of the worst challenges.
The first episode of the season saw Anna Geary’s Fitzsimons from County Wicklow, Donncha O’Callaghan’s Gallaghers from County Laois, Nina Carberry’s Finnegans from County Meath, and Davy Fitzgerald’s Dorans from County Wexford battle it out to get top of the leaderboard.
They were certainly put through their paces as they were forced to hold on to hoops suspended up in the air while their family members collected rings, – the group who collected the most rings before their family member dropped won.
And people were delighted for the series to return to our screens.

Sitting down to watch Irelands Fittest Family with beer, crisps and chocolate is my own little form of protest. #irelandsfittestfamily

And they all had praise for the Fitzsimons family who were able to absolutely crush it in the first week.
Wow, how good were the Fitzimons family. The two young lads were superstars #IrelandsFittestFamily

The absolute drama of that eliminator and then to have Kate Bush playing in the background was just excellent 😂 well done the Fitzsimons #irelandsfittestfamily
