Laura Whitmore is jumping into the world of acting, with her upcoming role in 2:22 A Ghost Story on London’s West End. While it will be a new challenge for the presenter, she certainly has a lot of support. Including from husband Iain Sterling.

The comedian couldn’t help but share his pride, posting a hilarious tribute to Laura as she announced the news.

First, reposting the announcement writing: “Cannot wait to see this play again.”

Then sharing a snap of himself outside the theatre, saying: “Currently running around central London screaming ‘my wife is going to be in this.'”

Laura announced her latest project yesterday writing: “News!!! I’m joining the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story from September 6th! Come see me on stage making my West End debut in this critically-acclaimed psychological thriller. For a limited run only, Book now!” she wrote alongside a poster of the play.

She will play Jenny in the play, whose synopsis reads: “Jenny believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam isn’t having any of it. They argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben. Can the dead really walk again?

“Belief and scepticism clash, but something feels strange and frightening, and that something is getting closer. So they’re going to stay up until 2:22….and then they’ll know.”

And Iain wasn’t the only one to share his delight, was immediately inundated with messages from her friends congratulating her on her good news.

Love Island star Amy Hart commented: “Love this show! Will be there.”

“Let’s go Laura so proud honey,” Strictly Come Dancing’s Oti Mabuse.

“Wow!! Break all the legs!” Maia Dunphy gushed.

Of course, this isn’t Laura’s only new gig, as she recently announced her new television project.
