Could Aidan Turner be the next Irish James Bond?
The Dublin actor might be following in the footsteps of Pierce Brosnan as it has emerged he is in talks to play the next 007.
Aidan is arguably best-known for his hunky role in BBC period drama Poldark, and his fans are buzzing with excitement for his potential new acting job.
A source told the Sun: “Aidan has held preliminary talks with Bond producers and being in LA will give him a further chance to discuss the role.”
But the 34-year-old, who also starred in The Hobbit, hasn’t secured the role just yet – he’s up against Hollywood favourites Idris Elba, Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston, who are also keen to put their name into the hat.
The search for the new Bond comes after Daniel Craig declared he would rather “slash my wrists” than play the famous character again following the recent movie Spectre.
