Gemma Owen has opened up about her breakup with Luca Bish in a chat with VIP Magazine earlier this month.
She jetted into Ireland for the PrettyLittleThing Christmas party and she confessed that she’s had a “mad few weeks”.
Speaking about the breakup to us, she tells us: “It’s been a bit of a mad few weeks, I’m okay. Obviously going through a breakup is not easy at the best of times.
“But then when you have to deal with the press side of things and other people’s opinions, you can imagine it’s been quite hard.
“People don’t know what goes on behind the scenes so it’s one of them things. I’m good though. Cracking on.“
Of course, Gemma is known for keeping her cool when she was dealing with drama on Love Island. And she’s definitely level-headed when she speaks about the end of her relationship, so how does she manage to float above the drama?
“It’s one of those things, people’s opinions come with the industry that I’ve put myself into. You just have to get on with it and deal with it. I have an amazing support network because I’m so close to my family so I don’t let it get to me.“
Although she didn’t win the series, Gemma became one of the favourites in the villa and was announced as one of PrettyLittleThing’s ambassadors in a year-long partnership.
So did she expect any of this?
“No. It is madness, the amount of amazing opportunities every day I feel so lucky and grateful. I definitely didn’t expect anything coming out,“ she admits.
