Garth Brooks surprises fans with playground sing-song

Garth will be delighted to come back to Ireland Pic: VIP Ireland

Despite reports that Garth Brooks would be remaining in his COVID bubble for his stay here in Ireland, it looks like he had to explore our shores.

It did take a lot of effort to get him here!

He was spotted in a playground in the heart of Dublin city over the weekend.  And he couldn’t help but burst into song!

He was joined in a sing-song to his tune The Dance by those around Portland Place in between his Croke Park gigs.

Local TD Gary Gannon shared footage of the surreal moment on Twitter revealing that his mother was along the lucky few to come face to face with Garth.

“Cynical as you can be about the whole thing, Garth Brooks is currently having a sing-song with me Ma and all the women of Portland Place in the playground & it is absolutely lovely..” he wrote on Twitter.

He posed for pictures with the crowd of fans before heading off to prepare for his next Croke Park show.

During the first concert, he couldn’t hide his emotions as the country singer broke into tears as he took to the stage.

“We came back. I just want to enjoy this moment. I love you,” he said as the crowd chanted “Ole”.

He added: “I don’t know what words could describe this, and the return since 1997, so I’ll not try. I came here for one purpose and that was to raise some hell.”

And raise hell he has, as he has been performing his hits including Friends in Low Place, Rodeo, The Dance, Callin’ Baton Rouge, The Thunder Rolls and That Summer.

Are you heading to Croke Park this week to see the man himself up on stage?
