Caitríona Balfe is set to be a Disney princess, well, actually a queen!
The Monaghan woman is being kept busy with her packed schedule.
She’ll be next on our screens in Sense and Sensibility as well as her return to TV in Apple TV’s Ascension, which is a new drama from Oscar winner Alfonso Cuarón.
Oh and we’ll see her in an upcoming film entitled A Long Winter.

And now she is set to join the magical world of Disney as Queen Arianna in the upcoming live action adaptation of Tangled.
Deadline confirmed the news adding that The Crown star’s Elliot Cowan will play King Frederic.
Caitríona shared her excitement on social media, saying: “Royally excited by this one ….;) Thrilled to be playing Queen Ariana. I’ve loved Tangled and I am so thrilled to be a part of this brilliant @disney film.

“It truly is magical to work alongside @teagancroft @milomanheim @motherhahn @diegoluna_ @theactorelliotcowan and being lead by the amazing @visualprostitute and the fantastic creative team he’s assembled is pretty special. Can’t wait for everyone to see this magic. Also … snuggly ducklings…”
Teagan Croft was previously cast in the role of Rapunzel, while Milo Manheim will play Flynn Rider and Kathryn Hahn has signed on as Mother Gothel.
How exciting!
