Award season is here and the Irish are smashing it in every sense of the way!

The latest star to make us proud is actress Eve Hewson who is due to be honoured with the Wilde Card gong at the upcoming US-Ireland Alliance’s annual Oscar Wilde Awards.

The awards ceremony is held by the US-Ireland Alliance, which is dedicated to strengthening the relationship between Ireland and the United States, all while celebrating the contribution Ireland makes to film, television, and music.

Eve’s previous work on shows like Bad Sisters has left on-screen viewers eager to see what she will put out next, while her latest project, Flora and Son is set to premiere at Sundance Film Festival later this month.

Trina Vargo, president of the US-Ireland Alliance, revealed that “the Wilde Card has been used to bring attention to rising talent who may not yet be a household name, but who we expect will be.”

The Dubliner will join fellow Irish actors Jessie Buckley of Women Talking and Kerry Condon of The Banshees of Inisherin who are also set to be honoured at the awards.

Atonement breakout star Saoirse Ronan was the first recipient of the award, back in 2010.

Other previous recipients of Oscar Wilde Awards include Jamie Dornan, Mark Hamill, Jim Sheridan, Chris O’Dowd, Colin Farrell, Caitriona Balfe, Ruth Negga, Sarah Bolger, Lenny Abrahamson, Brendan Gleeson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Neil Jordan.
