Erica Cody is taking the presenting world by storm with her new music series The Main Stage. She is releasing new music and she, of course, sambaed up a storm on Dancing with the Stars.

Life couldn’t be any better for the 25-year-old.

And she is incredibly grateful for every single opportunity that she has been afforded.

Speaking to VIP Magazine, she admits that she always wanted to hit the big time at a young age. However, like every Irish mammy knows – what is meant for you, won’t pass you.

“There’s a reason why that didn’t happen because I never would have been ready! In fact, it would have had a detrimental effect on me,” she explains as she chats to us.

Now she admits that she is at a stage of her life where she can really take everything in, adding that she has done things that her young self could have “only dreamed” of doing.

“To be co-hosting a show on primetime TV at the age of 25 is a huge accomplishment to me,” she admits before taking the opportunity to thank the women who went before her.

In particular she is all praise for Loah who was the first Black Irish woman to present an Irish primetime television slot. Loah joined Una Healy to host The Heart of Saturday Night last summer.

“It’s really important to recognise Black women’s contributions to culture, especially Irish culture.”

“I’m honoured and I couldn’t imagine being in a better space than I am in now.”

When she’s not working on her presenting skills, she is writing and recording new music which she promises has a “fun” pop, R&B vibe.

To find out what Erica is up to next pick up the July issue of VIP Magazine which is on shelves now nationwide for €2.20
