It’s been non-stop for Dermot Kennedy as of late but now it seems as though the Irish singer is taking a well-deserved break for himself.
After a busy year of gigging in 2022, Dermot has decided to kick off the new year by going travelling.
Taking to Instagram last night, the artist shared with his followers that he wanted to take some time off to “breathe” before touring later this year.
Writing: “I’m off to explore some parts of the world I have yet to see. Not for music, just to wander.

“Haven’t really taken a day to breathe in about 6 years, and it’s been incredible and just like I dreamed it all, but this is a long time coming,” he continued.
However, fans of the musician will be happy to hear that he’s not totally disappearing as he explained he will be keeping up his writing and maybe even sharing it along the way.
Adding: “I’ll be writing, and I might post the odd poem on here if that’s something you’d be into?”
Of course, friends and fans were quick to flock to the comment section to show their support with one writing: “I hope you feel all the rest you serve and that your heart feels all the love from us.”
While another commented: “Rest is incredibly important, so enjoy it and use it to recharge all your batteries for the tour.”
Dermot concluded the post by expressing his love for his fans and sharing how excited he was to tour.
The musician’s first gig of the year will take place in March in Germany as part of his Sonder tour before finishing off in Ireland across the months of June and July.
