Dermot Kennedy has shared an emotional message after performing two sold-out nights at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, admitting the experience exceeded even his biggest dreams.
The singer-songwriter took to Instagram after the shows to thank fans for their support, describing the milestone performances as unforgettable.
“Even I never dared to dream of something like the last two nights,” he wrote.
“I can’t believe what just happened to me. I expected to feel nervous, and all I felt was calm and supported.

“Everything fell into place, and it was beyond anything I could have imagined. Thank you forever X.”
Among those cheering him on from the crowd was his aunt, broadcaster Mary Kennedy, who shared her pride in her nephew across a series of Instagram posts.
Posting a photo alongside Dermot and another family member backstage, she wrote: “Two proud aunties. You were outstanding.”
She later shared a snap from her seat in the Aviva Stadium during the concert, simply captioning it: “No words. Pure class.”

Dermot was joined by special guests Amble and Aaron Rowe across the two-night run, with the folk trio bringing their signature blend of traditional Irish and indie folk influences to the stage, while Dublin singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe helped open the shows.
During the second night, he was also joined by Robbie Cunningham of Amble and Aaron for a special rendition of Carrickfergus, much to the delight of the crowd.
Taking a moment to address the audience, the singer said: “I’m trying not to be too sentimental this early on, but I do just want to say a very sincere thank you.
“I’ve never played for this many people in my life. I’m glad you’re here.”
