Claire Byrne has shared that there will be a shakeup in her Radio 1 show over the summer.

She announced that she would be taking some time off for her Summer Break.

She also revealed that her replacement would come in the form of Philip Boucher-Hayes.

Claire confirmed the news on Thursday telling her listeners: “I’m heading away, I’m taking a summer break but the hard-working team will be soldiering on and Philip Boucher-Hayes will be ably sitting in this chair over the next little while.

“Thank you very much for listening, you can catch up on anything you might have missed on the app.”

She didn’t say when she would be back on the radio but it looks like she will be taking time to spend time with her children over the summer.

Claire made the decision to step away from her show Claire Byrne Live last year to spend more time with her children.

“I am still prepared to take on TV things because I love it, but I have a responsibility to three children under 10 and I must bear that in mind too,” she previously told The RTÉ Guide.

“It is just about getting that right. If I didn’t have my family, I would probably be taking on everything and that is always how it was.”
