Claire Byrne shares rare picture with her husband, Gerry

Claire Byrne announced that she would be taking a break from her radio show to spend the summer holidays with her family.

The presenter has made it clear that her children are her number one priority.

She has now given us some insight into how she has been spending the last few weeks.

She shared a picture of herself with her husband, Gerry Scollan as they enjoyed a trip to France.

“Spent a lovely day in St Malo….” she captioned the picture of the pair of them.

Claire looked relaxed in a cream jacket with Gerry opting for a black and white patterned shirt.

She had previously revealed that she and her family didn’t have the best weather in the south of France. In another snap, she showcased rain droplets on a window, writing: “Summer in Brittany.”

However, in another picture, she showed off the sky brightening up with the caption: “A better day! #brittany.”

Claire and Gerry are spending their time in France with their three children who are aged 10, eight and five.

Claire was one of the frontrunners to take over The Late Late Show gig, however, it was her three children who gave her pause before pulling out of the running entirely.

She told the Irish Times at the time: “They wanted me home on Fridays, because Friday is sort of a family night.

“I said, ‘What about the Toy Show?’ and they said to me, but we want to watch the Toy Show with you.”
