Presenter Louise McSharry has made her highly anticipated return to the 2FM airwaves after six months off.
The host has taken back over her night time show, which has been presented by Eoghan McDermott while Louise has been battling cancer.
Louise was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August 2014 and took a sabbatical from work to concentrate on her treatment.
McSharry announced on March 27, Daffodil Day, that she has been declared cancer-free, tweeting: “So #DaffodilDay seems like the perfect day to tell you that I got the results of my scan, and I don’t have cancer anymore!”
Now officially cancer-free, Louise has resumed her position at the station and delighted fans with her return to the studio on Sunday night.
Posing at her radio desk, Louise looked happy to be back in her seat and more than ready to start working again.
When VIP spoke to Louise in February, she told us about her excitement about returning to work.
“I’m dying to get back to work and into routine and normality”, said Louise, “I worked in 2FM for a good few years before I got my own proper show in the schedule. I’d only done it for six months and I had to stop!”
When we asked Louise to sum up what life had been like since her diagnosis, the presenter described it as “challenging, loving and open”.
You can catch Louise’s radio show on Sunday nights from 8-10pm.
