Brian Kennedy has updated fans on his condition, saying that he’s doing well but definitely isn’t in the clear yet.
The singer was diagnosed with rectal cancer last year and has been undergoing treatment in between gigs while on his UK tour. Despite feeling good and doing well, Brian has admitted that he’s not in the clear just yet.
Speaking to the Irish Daily Star he said, “It’s an ongoing thing. I have to go in for another check-up in a few months. I’m not out of the woods yet, I’m not clear yet, but that’s the destination I’m looking towards.”
The 49-year-old also spoke about how on the 27th of July 2016 he was told by doctors that he had a tumour. He knew that something wasn’t right and decided to get checked after he “suddenly had a lot of blood – not just a bit – a lot.”
Now Belfast native Brian has had both chemotherapy and radiation therapy, and has vowed that he will “do whatever it f**king takes to beat this.”
