Irish singer Brendan Murray has made it through to the next round of this year’s X Factor.

The Eurovision star was part of the group of hopefuls to stay in the competition, as decided by judges Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Field and Robbie Williams.

Following his successful first audition, which saw the Galway man wow the judges, Brendan has been waiting for the call that he made it through to the dramatic six chair challenge.

Following the big announcement, the judges and contestants found out what categories were being mentored by who this year – with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson taking charge of Brendan’s ‘boys’ category.

Last night’s final audition stage also saw Northern Ireland singer Chloe Jane McAllister make it through to the next stage of the competition – and will be a part of Simon Cowell’s ‘girls’ category.

We can’t wait to see Brendan and Chloe on next week’s show!
