Bernard Brogan has made his long awaited return to the pitch in Dublin’s Super 8 match against Roscommon in Croke Park.
Bernard, who welcomed twin boys with his wife Keira just last month, has been out of action for the Boys in Blue since suffering a devastating cruciate ligament injury before the Championship season began.
The five time All-Ireland medal winner came on to the Croke Park pitch as a second half temporary substitute during Dublin’s facile win against the Rossies, and the supporters were delighted to welcome their hero back.

The Dubliner was met with huge applause, as well as a standing ovation from the 33000 strong crowd as the sun shone down in the stadium this afternoon, and his return has fans across the country over the moon.
Bernard Brogan getting out of the house for an afternoon on his own four weeks after his wife gave birth to twins is every bit as impressive as the ACL recovery — aidan o’hara (@oharaa) August 5, 2018
Bernard Brogan got ACL reconstruction in February and has played championship today in Croke Park, it must be some kind of record!? #GAA #Legend
