Rugby star Gordon D’Arcy has opened up on what it’s like to be a dad, admitting his daughter Soleil now takes priority.
The Leinster and Ireland player and his former model wife Aoife Cogan welcomed their first child four months ago and Gordon has revealed how much he stresses now that he is a parent.
“You just worry about things a lot more. Suddenly your priorities change and perspectives change and you worry about not being there,” he said.
“I don’t think there’s anything that tops having a kid. You are blessed when it happens. We always planned it and now that she’s here, she takes priority.”
And the 35-year-old also told the Sunday Business Post that fatherhood has transformed his idea of a nice day off.
“That has changed massively over the years,” he said. “It used to be just deciding where you were going for lunch with your teammates, now it’s up early changing nappies and then spending time with my baby and my wife.” He sounds well and truly settled!
