Yes, her partner Mark Mehigan popped the question before Christmas in a surprise proposal.
Now big sister Aoibhín has shared some details about the moment!
“Doireann was very definite from the get-go that Mark was the man for her,” she explained.
Speaking to Woman’s Way, Aoibhín said: “We were all like, ‘Okay, whatever you say’, but she was like, ‘No, I’m telling you, we’re going to be married in the not-too-distant future’.”
“True to her world, they got engaged.”
However, it looks like the proposal was still a surprise to Doireann as Aoibhín added: “The actual proposal totally caught Doireann off-guard, as she was on the way back from work with no makeup on. It was a dismal day and she and Mark were in the Phoenix Park, and down he went on one knee.”
She went on to say that she and Ailbhe were “summoned” to Dublin to be part of the celebrations.
“We were all summoned to Dublin and it was a panic to get the kids minded, but John and I were so excited to get on the road and be there to celebrate the engagement that evening,” she joked.
She quickly added: “We all fell in love with him. How could you not – he’s so funny.”
