Amy Huberman further cemented her status as the nation’s sweetheart on last night’s Late Late Show.
The talented actress joined Ryan alongside her co-star Neil Morrissey to discuss their new four-part drama series Striking Out.
The RTE show, that first aired last week, stars Amy as a heartbroken solicitor (Tara), who has to leave her prestigious law firm when she discovers her fiancé and co-worker has been cheating on her. She then ventures to start her own practise specialising in family and divorce law alongside Neil’s character (Vincent), which will put her in direct conflict with a number of influential people and will challenge her own personal morals.
Although Amy has been mainly playing comedic roles over the past number of years, she admitted she was ready to take on a more serious role and do something different.
“It was different but I was ready to do a drama again,” she told Ryan. “Because before this it had been a few years since I’d been in a drama. In a way I was ready to do something different and I relish being able to do it because it’s a joy to be able to go from one to the other (comedy to drama).”
The mum-of-two won over audiences across the country with her quick wit and undeniable charm, with many taking to Twitter to praise her.
