Yes, wedding planning is all go for the Virgin Media News journalist.
Speaking at this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards, she admitted that her proposal was a shock!
“I was shocked! We had talked about getting married but I didn’t know we were getting engaged that weekend,” she laughs.
“I had been in New York for work and I knew we were going away for the weekend, so I said that I didn’t really want to do anything. I was tired. I just wanted to chill and do nothing. But getting engaged was very much doing something!”
She adds about her fiancé, who stays out of the limelight: “It was a really, really nice surprise! We’re so happy, we’re loving it.”
With the wedding fast approaching, Zara admits that she is “enjoying” planning even if she’s not very organised!
“We’re so excited and we’re really enjoying planning everything. If you asked anyone who knows me they would say I’m a very chilled bride but a very disorganised bride!” she laughs.
“I underestimated how much work organising a wedding was, I was a bit delusional, but how are you supposed to know if you haven’t done it before?
“I have a few things left to organise. But we’ll get there. The wedding is this summer, so it’s very soon. I should probably be a bit more on top of things. But it’ll all be fine! We’re looking forward to a great day together, everything will come together and I’m excited.”
Aside from wedding planning, Zara is still bringing the news to the nation and she has been filling in for Matt Cooper on his Today FM radio slot.

“That is intense. But I love it, I love being able to fill in for Matt,” she admits.
“The team on Today FM are so lovely. That would have been something that was really out of my comfort zone. But it’s something I really wanted to do, something different from my day job. I’ve loved doing it!”
