Liberties singer Imelda May has revealed that RTE haven’t recommissioned The Imelda May Show just yet.
However, the chat show host said that, despite not being asked back, if she is, she has plenty of guests in mind.
Former guests that have appeared on the show are Kodaline, The Coronas, Damien Dempsey, and Bob Geldof, to name a few.
“Lots of bands are getting in touch with me now, because they’ve heard of it and it seems to be getting a good reputation.”
She mentioned names such as Meatloaf even wanting to perform on the show. “I was out with him and he said ‘I want to be on your show’. He’s a pal of mine. He asked me to record with him. First time I met Meatloaf, we ended up doing the conga together in New York.”
Although the future of the show is unsure, Imelda has said that even if she is asked back she will have to think about it before deciding. “I haven’t been asked to do another one, so i’ll see if they ask me to do another one and I’ll see if i’m free,” she told Independent.ie.
The rockabilly songstress has been busy writing music for her upcoming album and is expected to begin recording soon.
The Imelda may Show was nominated in the Best Entertainment Show category at last night’s TV IFTA’s, but lost out to Baz Ashmawy’s 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy.
