Following the announcement of her marriage with Brian McFadden being over, we revisit when we chatted to Vogue about her husband last year.

One Irish celebrity who EVERYONE is talking about this week is model and DJ Vogue Williams.

The stunning 29-year-old, who is fast becoming a tv star, too, announced on Tuesday that she and former Westlife star Brian McFadden are ending their near-three year marriage, shocking the showbiz world – but apparently not their friends.

Just last year, we met with the Bear Grylls: Mission Survive champ for an exclusive photoshoot in House on Leeson Street, when she gushed about her singer hubby and discussed the pair having babies together.

Here’s what happened when VIP met Vogue…

Then 28-years-old, the Howth native was married to Brian for two years following their lavish wedding in Florence, Italy, which graced the cover of Hello! Magazine.

At the time, the pair had set up home in London and were dividing their time between the British city and their native Dublin. The Fade Street star was plugging a new RTE show at the time, Vogue Does the Afterlife, which came about as she wanted to contact her late dad through a medium.

But it wasn’t just the afterlife we discussed – Vogue happily and openly chatted about married life with us.

We asked the gorgeous blonde how married life was going, two years on, and there was no sign of any cracks.

“Great thanks,” she replied. “Honestly, it is just the same as before. It’s not like you get married and your whole life changes.”

When it came to top tips for a successful marriage, Vogue was frank about the fact that she wasn’t quite sure.

“Everyone is so different, so that’s hard to answer,” she said. “But I would never go to bed on an argument and you have to compromise too. When you are single you’re out for yourself, and you can do what you like, but when you’re married, you can’t do that.”

“We just get on so well. He is just hilarious and we spend all our time laughing. We were like best friends after two weeks. It was lovely.”

She told us that she fell in love with Brian because of their compatibility:

But after two years of marriage, did they still laugh together all the time?

“Yeah,” Vogue responded, “I am funnier than Brian though!”

She poked fun at her husband’s popstar days, saying she was never a fan of Westlife, and much preferred bands like Oasis and The Prodigy.

And it seems she enjoyed giving Brian a bit of a slagging about his days in the group: “If I see pictures of him, I am like, ‘What were you thinking!?’ Some of the haircuts and outfits were just horrific.”

Vogue described the couple’s typical night in as a walk with their dog, coming home to order a Chinese and cuddling up with a box set.

“We want our base in Ireland,” she said. “If we have kids, that’s where we want to bring them up.”

When it came to their future together, Vogue was adamant that she wasn’t in a rush about one thing – motherhood.

“I don’t feel the need to rush it,” she told us. “I want to put my career first. I don’t ever want to come to a point where I’ve put my career first too much though.”

If she had an age in mind to have babies, she said it would be 33: five years after our interview. And Vogue told us that she fully intended to settle in Dublin with Brian when they did have kids.

“We want our base in Ireland,” she said. “If we have kids, that’s where we want to bring them up.”

The blogger also chatted about Brian’s children from his first marriage to Kerry Katona, Molly and Lily-Sue, ahead of their fun-filled trip to Disney World in Florida.

We had to ask her: was it weird being a step-mum at just 26?

“Not really,” Vogue said. “Maybe if they were babies when I met them it would have been a bit weird, because I wouldn’t necessarily been ready for babies.

“But I met them when they were grown up and well behaved, and it’s not like I have to look after them or anything. They are just so good and we just do stuff together and it is all really easy.”
