Typical. You wait ages for one decent GAA star wedding, and then two come along at once! So it was on New Year’s Eve, when the nuptials of Paul Galvin and Louise Duffy threatened to outshine the other big wedding – that of Dublin captain Stephen Cluxton and his girlfriend of five years, Joanne O’Connor.
Many of Stephen’s Dublin team-mates, including Bryan Cullen, Cian O’Sullivan and Dean Rock, attended the ceremony in St. John’s Church, with former Dublin hero Jason Sherlock also in attendance with his wife.
Joanne wore a beautiful silk ivory dress (just like Louise Duffy!), with an embroidered bodice, while the groom settled for a grey three-piece suit (again, just like Paul Galvin), though he opted for a dickie-bow rather than Paul’s necktie.
Storm Frank ensured that it was wet and windy in Laois as well, but the guests posed happily for photographs with their partners, and as these photos show, everyone was immaculately turned out.
