Una Healy opens up about marriage split “I’m in a much better place”

The star split from rugby player Ben Foden last year

Una Healy appeared on last night’s Late Late Show to talk all things new music, her kids, and moving on almost a year after splitting from husband Ben Foden.

Una, who rose to fame with girl group The Saturdays, chatted to Ryan Tubridy about how she has began to rebuild her life since the breakdown of her marriage came to the public eye last July, and says it was a difficult time for her.

“I dont regret ever meeting him, I can never look back on it and say its a mistake.” she revealed.

“Its difficult because he is in New York. Its not a place for children. I decided not to go, but then it was all revealed, what was going on behind my back.”

“I feel I’m in a much better place than I have been in a long time. I fled to Ireland, I think everybody assumed I moved back, I took refuge in Thurles and my mother had to answer the door to journalists.”

“My mother has been a rock through it all. Its lovely to come home. I’d been over in England 11 years.”

This was the first time that the mother of two had spoken so openly about the split, and fans and viewers were quick to praise the honest interview – as well as her stunning performance of new single, Strangers.

What did you think of Una’s appearance on the show?!
