All that anyone online has been talking about over the last week or so is the ‘Free Britney’ documentary.
The program, made by the New York Times, aired in the US a fortnight ago and will be available for Irish viewers to watch from the 16th of February.

If you’re not aware what the documentary is about, it’s a deep dive into her rise to fame to her horrific battle with misogyny in the noughties as well as her current conservatorship with her father.
The documentary gives a clearer understanding of the #FreeBritney movement, speaking to the activists at the helm of the hashtag; one which seeks to give Britney her civil rights back and remove her from being underneath her father’s control.

Having previously requested for her father to be replaced as the conservator of her person and estate, Britney’s wishes have been denied in court and the documentary looks at why the pop star is still not in control of her own life and finances.
Continuing to work throughout the conservatorship, even holding down a very successful and lucrative Vegas residency, fans of the star can’t understand why Britney is still not being heard; leading to the #FreeBritney movement.
So where can you watch it? Good news is it will be aired on Sky Documentaries as well as Now TV, at 9pm.
