Irish broadcaster Terry Wogan has been forced to pull out of charity event, due to health issues.

The star was set to present Children in Need over in the UK tonight, however under doctor’s advice decided to withdraw.

Terry has hosted the annual show for 36 years, but sadly couldn’t continue his reign.

The show will remain in capable hands though, as another Irish host has stepped in to save the day: Dermot O’Leary.

In a statement released from the BBC, a spokesperson said, “We are incredibly grateful to Dermot for stepping in at such short notice but know he’ll do us and Sir Terry proud.”

“I’d like to add my best wishes to Sir Terry for a speedy recovery and I hope I do him justice.”

One Direction are also set to appear on the show tonight, and are rumoured to be performing a song from their new album – we can’t wait to hear it!

The show will air on BBC One tonight from 7.30pm-10pm.
