The Toy Show has been axed this year, according to reports.

The children’s Christmas show which aired on TV3 for the last four years has been dropped.

Sources claim that the decision to cancel the show is based on lack of revenue.

The TV3 Toy Show always had stiff competition from RTE’s hugely popular Late Late Toy Show.

Last year, Lucy Kennedy and Dustin the Turkey presented the show, but failed to reel in ratings.

Previous presenters include Alan Hughes, Brian Ormond and Brian McFadden and Maria Walsh.

The ratings were at their highest in 2014 when Karen Koster presented alongside Brian McFadden, with over 470,000 people tuning in.

However in 2015 only 209,000 people watched, according to the Sun.

Meanwhile, the Late Late Toy Show have opened up their applications for audience members.
