Safety, stage times and support acts: All you need to know about Ed Sheeran’s Irish concerts

Ed Sheeran is set to play a total of nine gigs in Ireland this month.

The artist has sold out all of the shows and it is expected to be an unforgettable show.

So here is everything you need to know about the concerts

What are the dates?

CORK, Páirc Uí Chaoimh 4, 5 & 6 May 2018

BELFAST, Boucher Playing Fields 9 May 2018

GALWAY, Pearse Stadium 12 & 13 May 2018

DUBLIN, Phoenix Park 16,18 & 19 May 2018

All Ed’s Irish dates are sold out.

What time do the venues open?

Venue gates open at 5pm. No early queuing is permitted. The shows are in residential areas therefore Ticketmaster as holders to respect the privacy of the residents and local communities.

They also advise that you plan your journey well in advance allowing plenty of time for travel as roads are expected to be busy.

Bringing a bag?

Ticketmaster have revealed strict guidelines for bringing bags.

Please do not bring a bag unless it is totally necessary. People without bags will be fast-tracked.

They add: “If you must bring a bag it needs to be smaller than A4 size. Bags under A4 will be subject to a search which will result in unnecessary queuing.

Safety

Ticketmaster also warns fans of scams and false tickets.

“Please be aware of bogus ticket sellers, do not buy from any unofficial source or secondary sites as these tickers will not grant you access and we would hate for you to miss out.”

Ed has three opening acts for his Irish concerts – Irish trad band Beoga, who featured in his songs Galway Girl and Nancy Mulligan, Jamie Lawson, and Ed’s pal Anne Marie, here’s when you can expect to see them onstage.

Ticket rules:

There are strict rules in place ticketholders.

In a statement from Ticketmaster Cork, they said:

“Persons who purchased their tickets in Ticketmaster outlets are just required to bring Photo ID in the lead booking name printed on their tickets to gain entry. No receipt of payment is required in this instance.”

However, if the person who bought the tickets cannot attend, it gets a bit tricky.

“If the lead booker of the tickets is unable to attend the concert someone with the same surname as on the tickets may use the tickets provided they show Photo ID and a photocopy of the credit card used for purchase. (CC details required for online purchases only).

They added: “If a purchaser has a question in relation to there online booking they are asked to contact the Ticketmaster customer service section through the website on the contact us section or call 0818 90 30 01.”
