Following the tragic passing of Gay Byrne earlier this week, RTE is set to broadcast his funeral on Friday morning.
After a lengthy battle with prostate cancer, the 85-year-old broadcaster passed peacefully on Monday morning, surrounded by his loving family.
His funeral mass will take place in St Mary’s Pro Cathedral Church, Dublin at 12pm on Friday, however RTE will begin coverage at 11.30am.
The programme will be presented by Bryan Dobson, while John Bowman and Mary Kennedy will provide commentary of the ceremony.
The service will be available to watch on RTE One, as well as online through the RTE player and RTE.ie.
