Rachel Gorry has opened up this week about how difficult it has been for her to launch her own brand without her husband by her side. The Irish influencer has created her own clothing line, called Align the Label which has been a huge undertaking, especially without her husband’s support.

The mother-of-three lost her beloved husband, Daniel, to oesophageal cancer on April 1, 2020; The Tullamore man was just 28 when he got his terminal diagnosis in 2018. Since then on social media she  posts daily updates on grief, solo-parenting and normal day-to-day life – her love of cleaning, fashion, makeup and home decor and this has led her to launch her very own brand.

Speaking on Instagram stories this week she said;  “I’ve a very heavy heart today lads, I’m feeling very down. I suppose after the couple days in London being on such a high, I just have this heaviness to my heart now.”

Continuing, she spoke about how she really feels his absence in these big moments in life that he is no longer here for; “You know its very daunting starting your own business, and although I’m very grateful, I don’t want it to come across that I’m not, it breaks my heart starting a new chapter in my life that Daniel can’t be a part of.”

“Obviously all of the decisions are on me, and I would love to be able to ask him questions, I don’t want to make any mistakes, and I would love to talk to him about things and share the whole experience with him. And that just hits me in waves, so after London and the photoshoot and everything, you know you’re just brought back down to reality with a bang.”

“I find it very difficult that amazing things are happening and I have to go up and sit by a headstone to share them with my husband,” she added.

We caught up with Rachel for the latest issue of VIP Magazine where she shared her excitement with us to be launching her own brand; “I have always had an interest in fashion so I don’t think it’ll come as a surprise to my followers that I’ve decided to bring out my own fashion brand! I wanted to create clothing that would make all women feel confident and comfortable, no matter what their size or body shape.”

“We are starting with a size range of UK4-UK26 so I really hope that there is something in there for everybody. My main hope is that women feel beautiful when wearing my clothes. I want the brand to be reliable for good quality pieces in women’s wardrobes that they can pull out time and time again because they feel good wearing them!”

We can’t wait to see the full collection from Rachel and to stay up to speed on her new brand make sure to follow on Instagram @alined_thelabel
