Rachel Gorry has hit back at cruel comments about her appearance after revealing she has been subjected to months of online “fat-shaming” since welcoming her twins.
The influencer and mum-of-five took to Instagram to share a series of candid posts, explaining how negative remarks about her body have affected her confidence, particularly while on a recent holiday.
Rachel, who welcomed twins Evie and Ryan with fiancé Adrien Kiernan nine months ago, shared a screenshot of a message that appeared to have been accidentally sent directly to her instead of a friend.
It read: “I think it’s because she hasn’t lost the baby weight from her face yet.”
Posting the screenshot to her Instagram Story, Rachel explained, “Would you like to know why I was so self conscious to go on holidays??
“Messages like this from women thinking they are sending them to their friends. But accidentally sending them to me.”

Rachel went on to reveal that she has been dealing with similar comments ever since giving birth to the twins.
“I’ve been fat shamed on here for 9 months!! Imagine having a baby or babies and being fat shamed by other women online.”
The Dublin influencer said she has also received messages questioning why she had not lost her baby weight immediately after pregnancy.
“I’ve had messages like ‘I thought influencers were supposed to lose their baby weight straight away, guess not with this one’,” she shared.
Rachel admitted she was reluctant to address the situation publicly but felt she had reached breaking point.
“I hate that I am even coming on to shed light on this but I’ve actually had enough!

“The fact that I’m a size 8/10 and being fat-shamed scares me as a mother of four daughters,” she added.
In another story, Rachel shared side-by-side photographs of herself from before and after having the twins, revealing that trolls had posted the images online with pig emojis underneath.
She also pointed out the contradiction in some of the criticism she has received over the years.
“And do you know what’s funny? This fake page who sent this put ‘For f**k sake eat a burger’ when I posted me in the pink dress a few years ago and now I’m too big!!”
Despite the hurtful comments, Rachel said she would not be publicly naming those responsible.
She finished her message by thanking followers and friends who encouraged her to feel confident enough to wear bikinis during her recent holiday.
