Pippa O’Connor has confirmed the closure of her POCO pop-up shop, which opened in Kildare last week.
The businesswoman and her team had been working tirelessly over the last few weeks, ensuring the shop was perfect for customers but sadly due to the latest restrictions surrounding Covid-19, they’ll have to close the doors again today.
Taking to social media, Pippa shared her heartbreak, saying, “I’m disappointed for our Kildare Village team. They’ve all worked so hard in helping to set the shop up.
“We’ve had a great first week and everyone’s spirits were high. But it’s not the end of this pop up. We’ll be back again in December.”
She continued, “Thank you to everyone we met since last Wednesday in Kildare Village and for the lovely feedback.
“Our online shop will still be operating as normal. Our POCO office team are busy working from home and are happy to help if anyone needs assistance.”
Like thousands of others around the country, Pippa and her husband Brian Ormond have spent the majority of last few months working from their home office or kitchen countertop, following Covid-19 guidelines.
Even though Pippa and Brian have worked together for years and their overall experience was really good, they found some days in the first lockdown particularly trying.
Speaking to VIP Magazine, Pippa said, “It makes such a difference if your partner works in the office all the time and then suddenly is not leaving the house.
“Don’t get me wrong – Brian and I had days we didn’t like and couldn’t look at each other – it was so intense. But yes, we are used to working together so that does make it easier.”
One thing they’re both incredibly grateful for, is the additional time they’ve been able to spend with their little boys, Louis and Ollie.
From outdoor adventures and fun afternoon on their bikes, to movie nights at home tucked up on the couch, they were able to make some lovely family memories and plan to make many more – which she hopes the boys will hold onto for years to come.
“I’d like to hear someone else ask the boys what they thought of lockdown. I think you’d get a truer answer,” she mused.
“But I think they’d say we had a nice time because it was mild and we were outside a lot, and mum and dad were home every day, and they got to stay up late! I think – I hope – they have good memories.”
