Pamela Joyce announced that she would be leaving Today FM earlier this year.
The news came as a definite shock to listeners. And of course, Pamela’s replacement has some big, fabulous shows to fill.
We were all eager to find out who would be stepping into the role.
And now we have all the details.
Louise Cantillon has been confirmed as the new lunchtime slot host.
She will kick off presenting duties on January 8th from 12pm to 2pm.
The big news was revealed on Dave Moore’s show on Today FM, where Louise said: “It’s the biggest honour ever, I’m hoping I can do it justice!”
Speaking about taking on the role, Louise said: “I am so excited and totally honoured to be joining Today FM’s weekday schedule! I feel so lucky to have this opportunity on a national station and schedule full of inspirational creatives.
“I love everything that Today FM stands for! This is the biggest break of my career, and I just can’t wait to get stuck in and have the best fun, play great ceol and use a cúpla focal with the lunchtime listeners. Roll on January 2024!”
No stranger to the Today FM audience, Louise Cantillon has featured across the daytime and weekend schedule since summer 2022. Louise presented the hugely successful Saturday afternoon show (2pm-6pm) on Today FM, growing the weekend audience significantly in that time.
She also has hosted television programmes including TG4’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest for the past three years and most recently TG4’s European Travel Series Téasc Taistil, the second series of which is due to air in March next year.
Congratulations Louise, we can’t wait to tune in!
