Niall Horan is set to feature on RTE’s new show Celebrity Bites next Monday and will reveal all the details of the last five years, from his time on the X Factor to One Direction’s hiatus.
The Mullingar native reminisces about what it was like being thrown into the public eye, and how being in One Direction changed his life.
Describing the madness of being in the One Direction bubble of the last five years, he said, “We were all new to it so obviously people who were working with us and for us have done this for ages.
“So we were just going with what they were telling us – do this photoshoot, this interview and your whole day of press. And we were just going with it – doing the tours. We’ve done five albums, five tours. That was a bubble for a while.”
The 22-year-old, who is now rumoured to be dating Hollywood star Selena Gomez, admits that when on the X Factor he looked like “a cocky idiot” because he was so full of nerves – mainly due to the fact he had to face the show’s front man, Simon Cowell.
“That’s half the reason why I was so nervous at my audition and I ended up looking like a cocky little idiot, just full of confidence. It was just nerves,” he said.
