They usually shun all public acknowledgment of their romance, but it seems Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander got swept up in Oscars fever.
The couple are notoriously private about their relationship and have so far avoided public displays of affection, but last night Alicia couldn’t help but give her beau a kiss as she made her way to collect her Best Supporting Actress gong.
The Swedish actress and the Irish star failed to hide their feelings for each other as they celebrated Alicia’s win for her role in The Danish Girl.
Before taking to the stage, Michael made sure to give her a loving kiss, finally publicly recognising their relationship after being together for one year.
It comes after their cringeworthy appearance at the BAFTAs, when the pair refused to play along with the awards ceremony’s Kiss Cam.
Even fellow actors slammed the Steve Jobs star for not kissing his girlfriend, with Mark Ruffalo commenting: “That girl wanted to be kissed. What’s his problem?”
Michael was also nominated at the Academy Awards last night for Best Actor but he missed out to The Revenant star Leonardo DiCaprio. He looked slick as ever as he posed on the red carpet with the other important woman in his life, his mother Adele Fassbender – aww!
