Love Island Games viewers were on the edge of their seats waiting for the moment that Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard would come face to face.

The pair fell for each other on the 2019 season of Love Island and went on to have a fiery relationship that didn’t end on the best of terms.

With Maura working as the social media ambassador for the series and Curtis taking part as a contestant it was only a matter of time before they had to interact.

Curtis was dumped third from the show and off he went for his exit interview.

And fans genuinely could not cope with the awkwardness.

Maura asked him why he did not couple up with Justine despite there being “chemistry”. Curtis responded that he “didn’t follow my balls”.

Always witty Maura quipped: “He still has no balls, guys.”

They ended their chat with a hug, so it looks like there is no bad blood between these two.

Fans took to social media to share their opinion on the “awkward” interview.

Maura had previously discussed her run-in with Curtis on the show.

Speaking to Kem Cetinay on Capital Late Show, she discussed the potential awkwardness.

The Love Island winner asked her about running into “familiar faces” as well as her “ex”, he added: “By your reaction, it was a bit of a weird one, wasn’t it?”

Maura responded: “Do you know what, like, everyone’s very excited about this because obviously they know that I would have had to interview him like, if he gets dumped from the show or if he makes the final.

“So yeah, we could have a run in there. So yeah, I mean, I don’t know how much I can say but ….it was interesting.”

She went on to say: “There is an interview. Like, I don’t really know if I can say that or not. But I mean, there is an interview and I’m trying to think back like how it went like I think it was okay, I think I was nice. I think.

“I think there might have been moments where I wasn’t too… polite, but I think I made it more of a joke.”
