Louise McSharry: “I would like to have a quiet couple of years”

Louise McSharry

Louise McSharry has entered a new chapter of her life.

At the end of 2025, the podcaster confirmed she had split from her husband, Gordon, and came out as a lesbian.

Following that, she bought her forever home and is still settling into this new stage of her life. (Will she ever get used to putting out the bins? Neither of us thinks so!)

She looks a vision at this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards in a Coast dress that she borrowed from a friend. A sustainable queen.

Speaking about her new home, she gushes: “It’s great, I feel so incredibly lucky. I am very concious of the fact that it is not something everyone is able to do.

“I am very much in a panic all the time about how I am going to pay my bills. That is just par for the course. I’m so happy, so grateful.”

When she publicly came out in November, she was immediately met with beautiful messages and support from her listeners and followers.

“It’s been pretty amazing,” she tells us with a smile.

“I’ve spent several years sorting it out in my own life, with my people, with my family and with people I love and care about. The response from people has been amazing, I feel so grateful.

“I’ve built such a beautiful community who are into what I do. I know it’s not for everyone but the people who are in it love it. I couldn’t be more grateful.”

She’s currently on holidays with her two sons, Sam and Ted, and she jokes that she in a new vibe.

“I’m in a very go with the flow, have a good time, enjoy life vibe at the moment,” she beams.

Away from her personal life, Louise has been hosting her podcast, The Catch Up, since 2022 and it’s just been going from strength to strength.

“My podcast is going great. I’m never not grateful I get to do it as my main gig. It is just the best,” she shares.

“I’m very focused on the podcast, I obviously do other bits like write columns for the Indo, but right now I’m all about the podcast and keeping the show on the road. I would like to have a quiet couple of years.

“It’s time for me to have a few years where nothing is happening to me. So that’s what I’m hoping for.”
