Broadcaster Louise Duffy has revealed that, while she and husband-to-be Paul Galvin are not planning to start a family for about 5 years, when they do she feels sure that the boys will follow their dad into GAA – “That would definitely be the way it would go!”, she joked.

The Today FM presenter is pictured exclusively in the new edition of VIP magazine, and revealed that knew pretty well immediately that the former Kerry GAA star was the man for her. “I remember our first couple of dates,” she said. “I just knew he was a fantastic man. So yeah, it was pretty early on that I knew.”

Louise and Paul are getting married next year, and Louise is very calm about the impending nuptials. “All I feel is happiness and excitement at the moment,” she told VIP. “You’ve made the decision to spend the rest of your life with someone and it’s really such a nice time. I can’t wait now.”

Louise now has her own mid-afternoon show on the national radio station, but her position is tinged with bitter-sweetness, as she occupies the slot that previously belonged to the much-loved DJ Tony Fenton, who sadly passed away after losing his battle with cancer earlier this year. Louise revealed how Tony is very much still in her thoughts when she’s on air – “He was a really really special character,” she told VIP. “I like to think sometimes of what he’d do or how he would do something.”

The radio star and Paul are known as one of Ireland’s most fashionable couples, and unusually for a man, the latter often hogs most of the headlines, Louise told VIP that Paul knows exactly what she likes – “Paul is great at surprising me,” she revealed, “he recently came home out of nowhere with a Sandro dress for me. I’d have absolutely no qualms about him going out and choosing me a perfect outfit.

Louise admits that she is, if anything, an even bigger fashionista than her fiancé, as revealed by the battle for wardrobe space at home – “I’ve gradually begun to ignore that invisible line dividing our allocated space!”
