Looks like Laura Whitmore is going from one dating show to the next!

Less than three months after stepping away from her presenting role on Love Island, the Wicklow native is set to narrate Date Night, an upcoming reality dating show which will air on Prime Video.

Laura announced her shock departure from the hit show just three months ago, admitting she found “certain elements” to be “very difficult” and that she had to think about her “own mental health.”

It has since been confirmed that Maya Jama will take over the role and host the upcoming winter series of Love Island, which is expected to air early next year.

Date Night will follow singletons looking for love via an app, similar to Tinder from the comfort of their very own home.

Speaking about the show, Richard Bond, Managing Director for Dragonfly Film & TV said: “Date Night is an innovative new format that will resonate with the millions of people who have been swiping left and right in the hope of finding love over the past decade.”

“We have an absolutely brilliant group of people looking for love and we’re crossing our fingers that Cupid’s arrow hits the target for some of our contributors.”

Singletons will also have the chance to consult with their friends and family, as the app itself will be visible on their living room televisions, allowing everyone to see and comment as they browse potential dates.

While the official synopsis reveals that if they: “secure a ‘match’ the couples will meet for a unique date where every look, flirtatious comment, and awkward remark is filmed for their friends and family back home…”

A release date for the series has not yet been confirmed, but stay tuned for future updates.

We can’t wait to have Laura back on our screens!
