The celebs are certainly impressing this week on the Dancing With The Stars, despite all the challenges. Especially comedian Kevin McGahern who hit the dancefloor with pro-dancer Laura Nolan, even though he was badly injured during the week.

Sharing the news with host Jennifer Zamparelli following their impressive jive. Kevin revealed: “I was dying four days this week.”

“I was in tears on Wednesday. I was at a physio on Thursday. I had needles in my back Friday. I was walking like Robocop.”

But despite his pain, the Cavan man powered through and his work paid off, as he impressed the judges, earning a score of 21 points.

Given their feedback, the judges had plenty of praise for Kevin and Laura.

Lorraine Barry exclaimed: “Jeepers creepers! Is not really you Kevin? That was a great jive. I really like you and Laura together, you’re so linked together in all the steps that you do.”

But she did have some feedback for the pairing, saying: “Now just a little tip here is that it’s the supporting leg that really needs to bounce a bit more. If you look at yourself and Laura, it gets a little bit flat sometimes. And that will give a little bit more energy, the pulsating of the beat but you two, you’re smashing it.”

While Arthur Gourounlian was very impressed by their spining techniques, telling Laura and Kevin: “I was getting dizzy looking at you seriously, but I love your drive and determination. I can tell you really taking this seriously and it pays off. It really shows and I’ve really enjoyed that jive.”

While Brian Redmond had some constructive criticism for the pairing but praised Laura’s choreography.

Saying: “Every time you took a backward step the feet were just too separate, they were too far apart. As you went back, you left the head behind. Your head was getting stuck forward.”

“But apart from that I really liked this jive. Laura congratulations, great jive content. Lots of steps in there, kicks and flicks, drunken sailors.”

“Overall a really solid jive, repeating just watch the feet!”

But host Doireann Garrihy said it best, when she told the comedian: ” Well, for a man who had pins in his back on Friday, he did exceptionally well.”
