Jeremy McConnell has revealed that he is going to therapy in a bid to save his on-off relationship with his Celebrity Big Brother housemate Steph Davis.
The couple have revealed that they are adamant that they want their romance to work out, despite the Dubliner admitted he slept with two other women.
Jeremy has confessed that he knows what issues he needs to work through to make things work with Steph, saying it was his ‘insecurities’ that drove him into the arms of the other girls.
In a joint interview with OK Magazine, he said: “I slept with other girls because of my own insecurities, but I’m getting therapy now. It will also help me to deal with my fear of people leaving me. I don’t want those thoughts to ruin things with Steph.”
He said that while he didn’t technically cheat on the ex-Hollyoaks star because they weren’t officially together, he regretted his actions.
“I’ve never cheated on Steph but I hold my hands up and say I shouldn’t have slept with those two girls,” he said.
Meanwhile, Steph explained why she took him back: “Jeremy isn’t the type of bloke to sleep around. It was just a one-night stand and he did it because he knew how bad things got between us. He felt like that was the only way to draw a line under us.”
She added: “I love Jeremy with all my heart, that’s not changed…if it was any other guy I don’t think I could forgive him for getting with other girls, but I know the love we have for each other is worth fighting for.
“I’ve been through a few very turbulent relationships with men, which means I find it hard to trust people. And Jeremy lost his mum, brother and sister within 15 months of each other when he was just a teenager, so he has a real fear of people leaving him. Together it can be a toxic combination.”
