Jennifer Zamparelli has been enjoying some time away from her RTÉ 2FM show.

She has been soaking up the sun with her family over the Easter holidays in a well deserved break.

And while Ireland has been covered by a perpetual rain cloud, Jennifer and her family have been enjoying the sunshine in Lanzarote.

Jen enjoyed some downtime by the pool with a book in hand. She was reading The Bee Sting by Irish author Paul Murray.

She shared a snap of her husband, Lauterio, enjoying a cocktail over dinner.

Another picture saw her two young children Florence and Enzo swimming in the pool by the hotel.

She captioned the pictures: “We love to do a little trip to Lazarote. Stayed around most in of the island in previous years but our favourite is definitely Playa Blanca. Reasons why…

“It has the most gorgeous beach with clear water. It’s cold but worth a dip Reasonable prices and very family oriented.. my Ma and Da love it too. Easy for buggy’s, wheelchairs etc.”

She went on to say: “We stayed this time at @princesayaiza . It’s right on beach and had a couple of pools. Food is amazing and staff are lovely. It is pricy but for convenience and comfort it’s worth it. You could potter around this hotel for the week it’s so big. Rooms are huge with plenty of space and very nicely decked out. Only thing is the adult pool is salt water and freezing. But still got in for a dip.

“I read The Bee Sting by Paul Murray and snot cried at the end. Took me 200 pages to get into it but so worth it. Now one of my favourite books of all time.”

She went on to gush about the fab food they had during their stay.

“I found this restaurant called @likenrestaurante down by marina and for me was the best restaurant in playa, so far. Tapas was fab really tasty and it was very kid friendly too with a good selection of wine. (Very important).”

However the “highlight of the trip” was the boat they rented for a day.

“This is second year we did it as we love it so much. These guys put on a serious barbecue and we always say it’s the best meal of the week it’s that good. I used their paddle board and kids snoorkled while Lau flipped himself off the top of the boat! You get to see all of playa coastline too it’s gorgeous It’s a 3 hour boat ride around 150 an hour then 20 quid per person for barbecue.. so worth it !

“We will definitely go back and would love to hear if you have any hidden gems in playa Blanca .. I’m sure there’s still so much I need to try !”

What a fab time!
