Vogue Williams and Brian McFadden recently proved it is possible to remain friends with an ex – but in Jennifer Maguire’s case with her former fiancee, things weren’t left so amicable.
Jennifer, who is now happily married to Lau Zamparelli and new mother to daughter Florence, has opened up about her ex, who sold a story on intimate details of their relationship to a UK tabloid in 2008.
The RTE star has admitted that her family did not approve of the man she was set to marry and in hindsight, she sees their break up as a “lucky escape”.
“My parents didn’t like him, but they never told me,” the Republic of Telly funny woman said. “They would always let me find out my own way.”
“They would never sit down and go: ‘Jennifer are you mental? What are you doing? Don’t marry this guy’.”
She told the Irish Independent: “They kind of let me do my thing and find out for myself. Which I did. Thank God!”
The 35-year-old added that she’s loving being a mum so much at the minute that she’d love to have another child with Lau. “I would love to go again. It is just a question of when. Not right now,” she said.
2FM star Jennifer is currently gearing up for her new Republic of Telly spin off series, Bridget And Eamon, which co-stars Bernard O’Shea.
