Irish stars lead BAFTA TV nominations

Ireland really is just ruling the roost when it comes to entertainment.

Colin Farrell has been picking up awards left, right and centre this year. Kneecap are dominating both in music and in film. And the awards aren’t done yet.

Yes, the BAFTA TV Award nominations have just been revealed with plenty of Irish names making appearances.

The one and only Nicola Coughlan has scored her first BAFTA TV Awards nomination!

Yes, you read that right!

She has been nominated in the Female Performance In A Comedy category for her role in the acclaimed Channel 4 series Big Mood.

Elsewhere, Lola Petticrew has also been nominated in the Leading Actress category for their role as Dolours Price in the historical drama, Say Nothing.

The Disney+ series has also been nominated for International Drama.

Graham Norton has once again been nominated in the Entertainment Performance category for The Graham Norton Show.

And finally, Derry Girls star, Siobhán McSweeney’s short film, Spud is up for Best Short Form. This film is her directorial debut!

Hopefully the Irish flag will be flying when the BAFTA TV Awards take place on Sunday May 11th.
