Alan Hughes has shared a stunning snap with husband Karl Broderick, in honour of their anniversary.
Posting a pic from their night out at the National Lottery’s Good Cause Awards, both Alan and Karl looked dashing in black tuxedos with bow-ties.
Captioning his post, Alan wrote: “Celebrating our Anniversary 29 years together [Karl] and on presenting duties at [National Lottery’s Good Cause Awards].”
While they have been together 29 years, the pair secretly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony, back in 2016.
The pair got engaged in of November 2015, after Karl proposed live on Ireland AM.
The couple made it official in a ceremony attended only by Alan’s brother Kevin and Karl’s sister, who acted as witnesses.
“23 years ago today we met…15 years later we had our civil ceremony …and because the Irish people said ‘YES’, we can say ‘I Do’. I couldn’t be prouder marrying this gorgeous man.” said Alan, announcing the news.
“Everyone who meant anything to us attended our civil ceremony and we just wanted to do this for us,” said Karl.
“Keeping it secret was the hardest part…I’m so happy to marry the guy I love and respect so much…Now we can live happily ever after.”
