YAY! Una and Patrick were slightly happy with the win…

Saturdays stunner Una Foden has tweeted her pride over her act Patrick Donoghue being crowned champion of The Voice of Ireland.

Patrick (22) became the first Dubliner to win the singing contest in the grand finale last night, and the supermarket worker was evidently shocked at the prospect of swapping the tills of Dunnes Stores to a €100,000 recording contract.

His glamorous coach Una took to her Twitter page to offer congrats to the singing sensation, who was an early favourite in Ireland’s biggest showbiz competition.

“SO incredibly proud of @iampatrickd – the new Voice of Ireland!!!,” she posted along with a ecstatic photo of the pair.

Una also told The Herald: “I struck a pot of gold with this guy. I believed in Patrick from the word go and all the judges wanted him. I got really lucky to have him – we worked so well together.”

“His personality is going to take him places as well as his incredible voice.”

The popstar, who was involved with The Voice of Ireland for the first time this year, along fellow coaches Bressie, Kian Egan and Rachel Stevens, has said she’d love to return in 2016.

“It’s gone really fast -the six weeks have all flown by. The show began back in October when we did the blind auditions so I’ve been through a pregnancy and had a baby so it’s been quite a while but I’ve really enjoyed it,” she commented.

The mum-of-two added: “I would definitely consider (returning), I’ve loved it. It depends what is going on in my life at the time. I have really enjoyed it – I loved it.”
