Last July, Conor McGregor cemented his A-List status after he attended Jennifer Lopez’ 47th birthday party with Cristiano Ronaldo, but Coach Kavanagh, who also attended the bash, has revealed that all wasn’t as it seemed.
The Notorious shared a photo of himself with J-Lo at the party, captioning it saying, “Happy Birthday Miss Jennifer Lopez. What a woman! What a night!” -but now it’s transpired that Conor actually crashed the event!
Earlier on in the day, Christiano Ronaldo had shown up at a camp the Crumlin native was training at in Las Vegas, and when the football star revealed to Conor that he was going to J-Lo’s brithday party later that evening, the UFC champ invited himself along.
“That’s just cheeky Conor, a throwback to his youth. He just says: “Ah sure I’ll come along.” And Ronaldo goes: “Ehh…OK.” Coach Kavanagh told the Irish Independent.
The boxing champ’s right hand man admitted that they were initially terrified before they crashed the event, but when they got inside J-Lo was more than welcoming -and even asked Conor for a dance!
“Yeah and we’re all there thinking: ‘How can Ronaldo invite us to this gig? Who’s going to be there?’ Even in the car as we’re driving in: ‘Wait! This a terrible mistake. We’re going to walk in here and be thrown out by some security guard!'” he said.
“We go in and J-Lo catches his eye and comes running over like a schoolgirl: “Oh! Conor McGregor! Thank you for coming. Let’s dance!” She drags him to the dancefloor and they start dancing and I’m like: ‘Oh, here we go, just another crazy story.’
“Ronaldo is there. He comes over, tells me that he reads everything (I write) and follows me on Instagram. I’m thinking: ‘Wait until I tell my dad about this!'”
You have to admire the Notorious’ audacity!
