Glenda Gilson has revealed that she and her husband thought she was just nervous about starting a new show, when she was actually pregnant.
The Xpose host was gearing up to present Ireland’s Got Mór Talent with James Kavanagh when she started to feel unwell.
The 37-year-old admitted that she had a feeling something was up, but husband Rob McNaughton assumed it was just new-show jitters.
“I knew before even I did that test. I was doing Ireland’s Got Talent and there was something different with me,” she told VIP in the June issue.
“I was sick and I remember Rob saying ‘that’s just tv nerves’”.
But does Glenda really get nervous doing TV after all this time?
“Ah yeah, it was live tv and while I’m used to doing live tv, this was new and it was a big show, too.
“But as it turned out it wasn’t nerves; I was pregnant! And then I did the test when we were in Spain and after seconds it appeared positive. It was so quick! It was my first time ever to do a pregnancy test!”
Having done just one pregnancy test in her life, which was positive, it’s no surprise the star feels so blessed to be expecting her first child, and understandably she’s a little nervous too.
“Yeah, I know. I remember saying to Rob, ‘do you know how incredibly lucky we are?’ We are so so lucky. I am so aware of that and so grateful. But yes I am nervous. I am terrified as hell! But I love kids and I have always been very maternal. But your own child…and the responsibility… ah! I’m nervous!”
Glenda and Rob are expecting their first child in November.
